This is for a lovely Antique Pine Box with working lock & key.
The lid is lined with part of a newspaper from the day of the State Funeral for Sir Winston Churchill, Saturday January 30th 1965.
This is a great looking item, ideal as a toy box, hobby/craft chest, etc or makes a lovely display piece in its own right.
Dovetail corner joints, brass handle to lid which opens on 2 brass hinges and has a working brass lock with key.
Marks and knocks from age and use, imperfection in wood on the lid has led to a small historical split - see photos - but a beautiful solid and sturdy period piece in good overall condition for age and type.
40.5cm x 26.5cm and just under 30cm high.
