ABOUT THE WORK

The white of snow is contrasted with the red of the coats and the stuffed animals. This work of art leaves a strong impression.

The illustration was drawn on pale blue paper. The long, thin tree trunks appear to form a striped pattern, which makes the Straw Hat Pirates' red coats and red stuffed bear stand out even more strongly in front of them.

The coats are completely red with no detailing drawn on them. For example, Luffy's left hand, which holds the binoculars, is depicted as if it were cut out of the red surface, and this cutout effect makes the coat appear even more impressive.

In contrast to the coats, the scarves are drawn in detail. It's also worth noting that the scarves wrapped around Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro have a somewhat Japanese flavor to them.

And then there's the red bear.

In the beackground there is what looks like a stuffed animal, but from the way it smokes a cigarette and folds its arms, it seems to have a will of its own. With Chopper riding on top of his head, it feels like he's one of the crew. The bear is a mysterious figure, but it's certainly what makes this illustration so fascinating.

*The work is made up of a set of 2prints
