For example, you can`t mount a shelf onto a glass panel and on timber/wood with the same screws. Masonry: It stands for solid, brick or concrete wall. Knock your wall, if it sounds very hollow, like there is a space (cavity) behind it, then there is a space behind it and it is plasterboard/drywall.
