Belle sculpture romantique Art Déco de Louis Albert Carvin (1875-1951) représentant deux tourtereaux debout sur des raisins et un carquois rempli de flèches, symboles des bacchanales de Dionysos et Cupidon, se tenant face à face et formant un coeur de leur corps. Né d'un père peintre et dessinateur au ministère de la Guerre, Louis Albert Carvin est admis à l'École des Beaux-Arts de Paris où il est l'élève d'Emmanuel Frémiet et de Georges Gardet. Membre de la Société des artistes français, il expose au Salon de cette société de la fin du XIXe siècle jusqu'en 1933. Il obtient une mention honorable en 18943. Carvin réalise La Muse de l'aviation, trophée en bronze offert le 1er mai 1909 par Léon Bollée, président de l'Aéroclub de la Sarthe, aux frères Orville et Wilbur Wright. Il exécute leur buste pour la Coupe Michelin à Pau en 19082. Son œuvre Le Spleen (1934), représentant un barzoï, a été érigée dans le parc de la Maison-Blanche à Clamart. Born to a painter and draftsman father at the Ministry of War, Louis Albert Carvin was admitted to the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he was a student of Emmanuel Frémiet and Georges Gardet. A member of the Society of French Artists, he exhibited at the Salon of this society from the end of the 19th century until 1933. He received an honorable mention in 18943. Carvin created The Muse of Aviation, a bronze trophy presented on May 1, 1909, by Léon Bollée, president of the Aéroclub de la Sarthe, to the brothers Orville and Wilbur Wright. He executed their bust for the Michelin Cup in Pau in 19082. His work Le Spleen (1934), representing a barzoi, was erected in the park of the Maison-Blanche in Clamart. Specialized in animal sculpture, he takes as models deer, hinds, lions, lionesses, panthers, birds, wolfhounds, sometimes horses, as the group L'Accolade featuring a couple of thoroughbreds, published by the foundry J.B. in Paris.
