Seller: bmw-speedshop (384) 100%, Location: Warszawa, MAZOWIECKIE, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 153452473482 EU stock - ready to post! Welcome to my auction, I am clearing out a few items used in recent project so take a look at my other auctions. Here I have a O-ring, seal and bearing repair kit for the BMW E36 M3 3.2 double VANOS used in the S50B32 engine (1996-1999 E36 M3 and 1996-1999 Z3 M) made by Beisan LLC. It includes all the parts that are NOT available to purchase from BMW. Not included are the solenoid O-rings and solenoid cover gaskets that can be purchased from BMW. I recommend to get E39 M5 solenoid O-rings as they are a special Viton O-ring that has been redesigned by BMW (4 each of: 11367830828 & 11367830829).The VANOS is the variable valve timing adjustment unit. It is essentially a hydraulic press working at 100bar (1450PSI)! Due to this high working pressure the shaft seals and O-rings wear out and start leaking making the VANOS not able to hold a camshaft angle called for by the ECU. This results in wandering camshaft angles and a delay in their movement or in the worst case a non moving camshaft. This kit is not just a few bolts and solenoid O-rings offered by others on eBay that don’t fix the problems people experience with the VANOS. Unless the right special O-rings are used, the O-rings offered in those other kits will also fail! This kit along with the solenoid O-rings/gaskets is all you need to fully rebuild the VANOS! It includes Viton and Teflon O-rings and seals, a repair kit for the splined gear bearings that cause the typical rattle as well as a set of special tools to service the splined gears. Please note that the replacement of bolts is not needed so don’t waste your time and money on other kits that will not fix your VANOS problems.Cause of problems:Deteriorating VANOS Buna rubber (Buna-N, NBR, Nitrile) rod seals (happens as early as 20 000 miles /32 000 km). Thus essentially all the cars with this VANOS have a degree of deterioration of the intake rod seal and a failing VANOS.Wear in the VANOS splined gear bearings causing the typical diesel-like or “marbles in a tin can” rattle. Typical VANOS problem symptoms: Diesel-like or “marbles in a tin can” rattle at low rpmOverall loss of torque and power, particularly in the lower RPM rangeBogging then surging at 3k RPMUneven power distribution and RPM transitionEngine hesitations in the lower RPM rangeLouder idle and intermittent idle RPM hiccupsDifficult take-offsLoss of power and bogging when AC onIncreased fuel consumption. With this VANOS repair kit all the above problems will be solved. What is included:Illustrated step by step 229 page repair instructions including how to take the VANOS off the engineSplined gear bearing repair parts and special tool to take the gears apartFull set of Viton O-rings and Teflon/Viton seals not available from BMWOptional parts that may be also needed are the VANOS filter and splined gear lock nut (can be purchased from BMW but only needed if old parts can’t be reused). Bolts do not need replacement unless old parts are broken This repair can be done by professional mechanics as well as DIYs with access to a few tools and by using the clear instructions included. Save £100’s by doing this repair yourself as professional VANOS service centres charge £400-£700 for this service and you have to send the VANOS away.
