DESCRIPTION

This three volume set of first US editions of novels from best-selling author Harry Patterson collects 'The Valhalla Exchange', 'To Catch A King', and 'Dillinger'. 'The Valhalla Exchange' pulls from the death throes of the Nazi regime a tale of intrigue and excitement, following the alleged escape of Martin Bormann, Hitler's secretary, from the Russian's enclosing on Berlin. 'To Catch A King' follows an attempted kidnapping of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor in a Nazi plot to coerce them into becoming the new King and Queen of Britain should the nation fall to Hitler's invasion. 'Dillinger' follows the exploits of notorious criminal John Dillinger as he escapes from an escape-proof prison and makes his way to Mexico, forced to outrun not only the FBI but corrupt Mexican lawmen as well. Patterson, also known by his pen name Jack Higgins, has written eighty-five novels which have sold over 150 million copies and have been translated into 55 languages, marking him as an incredibly successful thriller and espionage novelists throughout his career.

CONDITION

All in publisher's original binding, in unclipped dustwrappers, showing $8.95, $10.95, and $14.95 prices for 'The Valhalla Exchange', 'To Catch A King', and 'Dillinger' respectively. Externally, all works very smart in black and red binding with gilt stamped author signature to front board. Only minor shelf wear to the heads and tails of the spine, and some minor bumping to the top extremities of the rear boards of 'The Valhalla Exchange' and 'Dillinger', and some minor off-setting to the bottom edge of 'Dillinger'. The dustwrappers are all generally very smart; 'The Valhalla Exchange' dustwrapper has some shelf wear to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, and some age-toning to the interior and fly leaves; 'To Catch A King' has only some age-toning to the rear cover, interior and fly leaves, and a closed tear to the bottom of the spine fold of the front cover; 'Dillinger' has some shelf wear and chipping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, age-toning to the covers, spine, fly leaves and interior, and archival tape repairs to the interior head of the spine, top of the fly leaf folds, and bottom of the back cover. Internally, all volumes firmly bound. Pages to all volumes bright and clean.
