Freelander 1 IRD / Transfer Box Planetary Shims / Spacers / Washers – Pair 0.5mm

Description These Freelander IRD / Transfer Box Planetary Shims are no. 8 in the exploded diagram of the IRD opposite. These are for a Freelander 1 (1998 – 2006). Since originals of these shims are not available and they generally show wear, hence need replacing when reconditioning an IRD, we have these produced especially for us. The price for the planetary shims is per pair (i.e. the two shims required for one IRD unit). The thickness of shim you require will depend on your IRD / Transfer Box. Generally the early IRD units used a 0.5mm thick shim – these are the ones which are most likely to be destroyed when an IRD has a problem. The later IRD units used a 1mm thick shim. If you require 1mm thick shims please message us.  

We do not have the shims labeled no. 5 in the exploded diagram as these do not generally cause a problem and can usually be reused.

Your shims can be returned to us within 14 days for a full refund, excluding postage, provided they are in the same condition you received them and they have not been fitted to an IRD / transfer box.

Shipping We aim to ship out stock items within 1 working day whenever possible. For drivetrain units which are reconditioned to order we aim to ship within 1 to 3 working days whenever possible. For reconditioned engines, we always recondition these to order and the process takes approximately 2 weeks. Please check the listing details for more information. If you would like a firm shipment date, or have a specific deadline you need to meet, please contact us and we will do our best to get your items to you on time. We ship worldwide - provided we can get a courier to take it there, we will ship it there!

Terms of Sale All of our units / work come with a 12 month return to base warranty against defective parts or poor workmanship. If you have a problem with any of our products or work please do not hesitate to contact us, we want happy customers and will do our best to sort things out. If your item arrives damaged, defective or not as described, please contact us within 14 days of receiving the item and we will issue a full refund within 5 working days of receiving the return, provided it is in an unused condition and is as was received. If you change your mind or no longer require the item, provided it is not a reconditioned to order item we accept returns within 14 days of receipt of the item. In these circumstances the item must be in unused condition and exactly as received. A refund of the item, excluding shipping, will be made within 5 working days of receiving the return. About Us We are FreelanderSpecialist. As the name suggests, we specialise in Land Rover Freelander's, both the Freelander 1 and the Freelander 2. We specialise in reconditioning the drivetrain units and the engines for all Freelanders. We also carry out repairs and servicing. Since the Freelander engines and drivetrains are used in some other makes of vehicles (for example the Rover, MG, Lotus, Volvo and Range Rover Evoque) we also recondition units for these vehicles. We have been working on (almost) nothing but Freelander's for so many years now we like to think we are pretty good at it! Just wanted to say what fantastic service we were offered when we travelled 220 miles from Bristol to get our differ/bearings reconditioned on our freelander 2 sd4 2010 - we had several quotes in and around Bristol who were charging over £2000 for the work - we were charged £750 by sue and nobert who we found by chance by browsing the internet and had no hesitation to travel up the 220 miles after reading there excellent reviews.
Myself my wife and my 3 children travelled up early morning we were welcomed by lovely sue who was so kind and friendly she offered us all a drink and let us chill out in her living room where she gave us so much advice. we were offered a loan car whilst our car had work done to it which was going to take most of the day we really appreciate nobert carrying out the work in one day as other companies were telling us it was going to take at least 5 days.
we had a lovely time with the kids at a park nearby when we came back sue offered us another drink and told us to have a rest and watch tv in her living room it was really nice of her as the kids were worn out and slept until the car was ready.

"Fantastic service I bought a vcu from them and they sent it straight to my garage for fitting. The garage could not get the old prop apart so I took it back to freelanderspecialist.com they fitted it for me.
