JEWELLERS & SILVERSMITHS SILVER SOLDER
EXTRA EASY
100mm long strip
MELTING RANGE - 667c - 709c
We stock 5 different grades of silver solder in our store (extra easy, easy, medium, hard and enamelling), and each has a different melting point.
The reason there is more than one grade is so you can make pieces with multiple joints, starting with the hard for the first joint if you make subsequent joints with a lower melting point solder the first joint or joints will not melt.
Regardless of temperature grade all come under the general heading of "hard soldering" and will require a soldering torch (not a soldering iron), suitable flux such as borax or a liquid flux and a soldering block to work on.
All of our grades are a great colour match for sterling silver and if used within assay office guidelines on soldering will cause no problems with getting your finished pieces hallmarked.
