Covers: The volumes (8vo) are uniformly bound in tan coloured calf with gilt fillet borders, and decorative gilt spines in six compartments divided by raised bands, gilt lettering pieces on red and green leather labels in compartments two and four; minor wear and markings to boards; spines rubbed and faded, small chip to top edge volume 2, cracks to labels; joints are creased with some wear but not tender.
Inside: The bookplate of Thomas Baring to the front lining papers.
Faint browning and minor foxing to end papers, internally just negligible, minor and to margins.
Occasional hints of toning to edges.
All pages are tightly held at the gutter.
Marble edges.
Inner hinges are sound.
A very well preserved set in near fine condition.
The books measure 22.5 cm x 14.5 cm and weigh 5.310kg without packaging.
