Echinodorus tenellus “Green” - Live Aquarium Plants In Vitro Shrimp Safe UK. In-Vitro plants, also known as tissue culture plants, are grown in plastic polypropylene jars. The growing medium is a gel-like fertile substance. This method of propagation guarantees that they are grown in a sterile environment, so that they are free from disease, snails, pests, algae, and pathogens. Pesticides are not used as they are potentially harmful to aquarium inhabitants.These plants are perfect for aquariums as they pose no threat to their inhabitants e.g. fish, shrimp etc. Echinodorus tenellus “Green” This is an aquatic plant that is relatively easy to grow. It is one of the smallest aquarium plants, and the smallest of all the echinodorus varieties. It is able to create a dense lawn look with its 7 cm long leaves which are 2 mm wide. In its natural habitat it occupies the edges of large rivers. Tenellus “Green” needs to be planted in nutritious substrate in order for its roseate form to be displayed at its best. This is an undemanding plant that will remain fresh green even under intense light, unlike the usual tenellus which fades to red. been already washed of the gel. The In-Vitro plants can be added into
the aquarium. As no pesticides have been used in their production it
only requires a couple of splashes of tap water to rinse. It takes only
minutes to introduce the plants to the tank. All that need to be done is
to remove the plants from the bag and then just push the plants into
the aquarium substrate to bury the roots, at this stage a planting
tweezers can come in handy. The plants can be split either by hand or
using a scissors so you get 4 to 8 plants from each bag. These plants
already have well established roots so they will settle quickly into the
tank. The plants should be spaced out in the aquarium to allow for
