Hello music lovers and welcome to only_vinyl. Dougal Butler here. Along with my brothers Henry and Ken, our aim is to provide you with the best online vinyl crate dig you could possibly hope for. An enjoyable, stress free, shopping experience, where you'll be safe in the knowledge that every album we have listed for sale has completely honest descriptions & gradings, and the pressing details provided are 100% accurate. Every listing will have clear photographs of both sides of each record, close up shots of the labels from both sides. Front and rear shots of the Record Sleeve plus any printed inners. You'll choose from an ever expanding array of genres, artists and titles, all with the comfort of knowing you are protected from any potential problems or issues by our 100% Money Back Guarantee, which includes the costs of return postage. We Brothers Butler are joint custodians of a storage facility, which currently houses a conservatively estimated 50,000 + albums, all which have been accumulated/hoarded/collected over the last 35 years. Obviously it's going to take an eternity to get them all listed here, but believe me when I say it will be worth the wait. There will eventually be something available to suit everyone's taste, so please save us to your favourite sellers list, and keep an eye on the store because you just never know what will become available each day.    Every few months Henry and Ken will send me several boxes of pre loved albums. Sometimes they will be 'cherry picked' items, and other times it will be a random assortment. My job is to identify and catalogue, clean, grade and then list each album. After bearing witness to the distinct lack of information provided by a high percentage of sellers on this site, We want to provide the record buying public a place where they can be confident that they will in fact be receiving a copy of the pressing which was advertised.  Many hours are devoted to researching each and every album we list, to ensure the the information supplied in each listing is as accurate as possible. Being collectors ourselves, we are fully aware of the needs and requirements  which make a good listing, so there won't be a doubt in  your mind you've got the album you're looking for. There will be no guessing games. If I can't back up any facts, then they won't be in a listing. Mistakes are always a possibility, so please forgive any incorrect details. I do perform my due diligence, I would ask that you please do the same. Grading:
  • I am a very pedantic man by nature and I do not deal in bullshit or lies. I will always assess/grade the vinyl, sleeve and labels honestly, and from a buyers perspective. My appraisals will always highlight any issues or flaws. I will call it as I see it, and I will always err on the side of caution
  • Please be aware that my gradings are a visual inspection only and I'm providing you with a personal appraisal.  I will earn your trust over time and allow you to buy with confidence. The last thing I need to be doing is spending my time dealing with unhappy customers wanting returns because of poorly graded albums
  • Many of these treasures offered here are unplayed and have never seen a turntable previously. I'm not going to be the one to spoil the thrill of you being the first to play your new purchase.  If I have any concern about the playing surface at all, the album will be play tested before being advertised on the site.  I certainly don't have time to play test every single album. It's far more practical for you to perform your own play test when your album arrives to your door
  • If for any reason you're unhappy with the sound quality of your new album, you are fully covered by our 100%  Money Back Guarantee
  • A good reputation takes a lifetime to build and a mere 5 minutes to destroy
Determining Price/Value:
  • Current market trends, sales history of album/pressing, condition of item and availability within the market place,  are all factors which are considered prior to pricing every album. My aim is to have every single album priced competitively within the marketplace, so please keep us in mind for a price comparison while you're shopping
  • The aim of this venture is to find homes for all these albums, so I won't waste my time or yours with any intentional misleading information
  • Please use the supplied photos to make an informed opinion for yourself
  • If you require better photos or have questions or doubts, please message me!
  • I operate with 100% transparency, and 100% truth!  Your enquiries, comments or offers are welcome at any time
  • If you believe I've got my price wrong, best you be contacting me and setting me straight
Cleaning & Packaging:
  • Each and every album is hand cleaned  prior to being graded and photographed
  • It's then placed back in it's inner sleeve, and then along with the cover, placed in a new outer protective sleeve
  • Each record is stored upright until purchased
  • Once sold,  the vinyl will be cleaned with a Pro-Ject VC-S Record  Cleaning Machine
  • Only after sufficient drying time will your album then be packaged
  • The vinyl will be removed from the cover (and any paper inner sleeves if present) and housed in a brand new  polyethylene 35UM inner sleeve
  • The cover and vinyl are then placed into a brand new  Low-density 55UM polyethylene outer sleeve separately
  • I then double wrap this package with bubble wrap and it's placed into a purpose built record mailer.
  • I ensure that the wrapped album fits tightly inside the mailer, with no chance of shifting during the delivery process.
  • If required I'll always add extra  cardboard stiffeners  into the mailer until I'm 100% satisfied that the album will not move.
  • Any extra postage charges due to this additional weight are always covered by only_vinyl and are included in the listed price.
For our customers protection, we offer a 100% Money Back Guarantee with every album sold here at only_vinyl.  We even cover the cost of your return postage. So once your package is delivered and you have a chance to inspect your goods, If you are not satisfied with your purchase, just send me a message through eBay within 30 days of receipt of your goods, and clearly provide me with details of the problem. I will send you money through PayPal to cover the cost of the return postage to me. When the album arrives back to me, I will make a full refund of the purchase price into your nominated PayPal account. We would like our customers to have the peace of mind to know that because they chose only_vinyl, even when an issue or problem does occur, it will be a hassle free experience. PLEASE REMEMBER THE FOLLOWING:
  • Our aim is to find new homes for these albums and  I'm not here to haggle for every single dollar
  • I do have a bottom line though and if I don't cover my running costs then I'm not going to last too long
  • Read each listing in it's entirety.  I provide a detailed description of each album,  which includes the full disclosure of all negative aspects
  • I will not deliberately list any album who's condition is so poor that I would not purchase it myself
  • Every single listing with the 'make an offer' option, is open to negotiation, so a ll you need do is make me a fair and reasonable offer, and nine times  out of ten you'll have that album as your own.
  • Please don't waste my time or yours with ridiculous 'Low Ball' offers, they will be ignored.
  • If you find a better price elsewhere for any album I have listed, and as long as that album is in comparative condition to mine,  then  I will beat that price every single time
