Hauteur 40cm
Diamètre 30cm
Poids 3,7kg
I am selling this praxinoscope-drill, a unique creation of my grandfather that I have respectfully restored.
Just like many “pre-cinema” optical toys like the zoetrope (zoetrope) or the phenakistiscope, it involves animating series of 12 images. Before the cinematograph or the kinetoscope, the praxinoscope was invented in 1877 by Emile Reynaud -- and not by my grandfather as I long believed.
The mechanical part is provided by an old drill.
The cylinder for the strips is made of sheet metal and the bottom is made of wood
The central cylinder is made of wood with glass mirrors.

The item comes with two new animated strips. They are not in the standard format of the real praxinoscope of Emile Reynaud , they are larger, if you want more I can have others made for a certain cost.
