Enkele opmerkingen van lezers:
This is a very welcome initiative of the two authors to bring brightness into the darkness of the early days of the Swiss wristwatch. [...] The advantage of the book is that it introduces a new method of identifying movements. The authors lead the reader with a rather well researched historical overview to the subject. In a compact, but informative way the technical manufacturing development of watchmaking in them18th and 19th century is described, [...] accompanied by a richly illustrated analysis of the various design features and the technical history of the 13-ligne Swiss lever movement. Dr. B.H. - Germany
For enthusiasts and collectors, as well as practicing watchmakers, Early Swiss Wristwatches is a good read. The dept and detail of the research is remarkable and is unique in the field. And, it sheds much light in an otherwise unexplored corner of horological history. D.B. - Canada

Superb publication. A.J.M. - United Kingdom
I think your book is an amazing result of much research, and is beautifully presented. R.R. - Switzerland
T he point is that research is dangerous, and often success or failure cannot be predicted until a lot of time and effort has been expended, and I think this is true of the book by Verneij and Van Rijn. They must be congratulated for the enormous amount of work involved in creating the database. So how should the book be rated, excellent or good. I think very good is a reasonable compromise. Dr. R.W. - Australië
Wonderful research information.
I love that it breaks down movements into the footprint of the gear train, connecting the dots between movements that are the same despite looking very different on the surface. This is a very well put together book. My only regret would be that the subject material wasn't a little broader. I look forward to any other research published by these gentlemen.
Useful movement identification information etc. for vintage watch hobbyists and professionals.
Superbly produced publication, which must have required countless man hours of research to complete. The authors are to be congratulated for their endeavours. Highly recommended.
